Marucci was founded in 2002 by the Louisiana State University athletic training director Jack Marucci and is currently the number one bat in Major League Baseball. In 2009, Reed Dickens, former White House Assistant Press Secretary to President George W. Bush, invested in Marucci and served as its CEO until 2012, and continues to serve as Chairman of the Board. As part of its growth strategy, Marucci just added five new independent directors to the Board, Jim Burke, CEO of TXU Energy; Willie Robertson, CEO of Duck Commander; José Bautista, All-Star Outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays; Ryan Stromsborg, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Parq Advisors; and Ben Bordelon, COO of Bollinger Shipyards.
